Life Skills

Life skills sessions are tailored 1-to-1 dog training to support you with real-life behaviours and everyday challenges.
About
Life skills sessions are 1-to-1, tailored to the behaviours you want to work on and the challenges you’re facing day to day. They’re designed to help you navigate real-life situations - whether that’s greeting visitors calmly, walking nicely on lead or practising that elusive recall.

Each session is adapted to suit you and your dog, taking into account your environment, lifestyle and goals. We’ll focus on building practical, reliable skills that support calm behaviour, clear communication and a positive relationship between you and your dog.

FAQs

Life skills sessions can support a wide range of behaviours. The examples below are not exhaustive - just get in touch if you’d like to discuss something specific. - Loose lead walking - Recall - Jumping up - Calm behaviour around visitors - Focus and engagement around distractions - Settling at home or in public spaces Sessions are flexible, so we can prioritise what matters most to you and your dog.
Who is it suitable for?
Life skills sessions are suitable for dogs of all ages and backgrounds, including puppies, adolescent dogs and adults. 1-to-1 sessions work well for those who would like personalised support, or where group classes don’t feel like the right fit. I also work with rescue dogs, supporting both the dog and handler as they build routines, understanding and communication together. Training is always adapted to the individual dog and handler team.
What to expect from a session
You’ll leave each session with clear direction and practical tools you can use straight away. Exercises are designed to be realistic and easy to fit into everyday life, helping you build skills gradually and with consistency. My aim is to help you feel supported, reassured and confident in what you’re doing, so you’re well equipped to continue building good habits long after our session ends.
Where do sessions take place
Sessions are usually held in your home, a public place (such as a park or town, depending on what we’re working on) or a secure field.
