Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Talk Bark ("we", "us", "our"), a UK-based dog training business. By booking or attending any session, class, workshop, or trial, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

​​1. Services
We provide dog training services including, but not limited to:

One-to-one training sessions
-
Group classes
-
Scentwork sessions and workshops
-
Scentwork trials and events
Details of each service, including duration, location, and price, will be provided at the time of booking.

​​​2. Bookings and Payment
2.1 All sessions must be booked in advance via our agreed booking method.
2.2 Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2.3 A booking is not confirmed until payment has been received.

3. Cancellations, Refunds, and Transfers
3.1 All bookings are non-refundable, including (but not limited to) one-to-one sessions, group classes, workshops, and trials.
3.2 If you are unable to attend a booked session, you may resell or transfer your space to another suitable handler/dog combination, subject to our prior approval. Approval will not be unreasonably withheld but must be confirmed in writing before attendance.
3.3 It is your responsibility to ensure that any replacement attendee meets the suitability requirements of the session.
3.4 We do not guarantee that we will be able to resell your space on your behalf.
3.5 In the unlikely event that we cancel a session, you will be offered either:

A rescheduled session, or
-
A credit to be used against future services.
Refunds will only be issued where required by law.

​​​​​4. Attendance and Punctuality
4.1 Clients are expected to arrive on time. Late arrival may result in a shortened session, with no extension or refund.
4.2 If you fail to attend a session without notice, the session will be deemed used.
5. Dog Health, Welfare, and Suitability
5.1 All dogs attending sessions must be in good general health and fit to participate.
5.2 Dogs must be fully vaccinated or titre tested where appropriate, unless otherwise agreed.
5.3 Bitches in season must not attend group sessions unless prior consent has been given.
5.4 You must inform us in advance of any behavioural concerns, medical conditions, or bite history that may affect safety or suitability.
5.5 We reserve the right to refuse or remove any dog from a session if we believe their participation poses a risk to themselves, other dogs, people, or the learning environment. No refund will be issued in such circumstances.

6. Training Methods
6.1 We use humane, evidence-based training methods.
6.2 We will not use equipment or techniques designed to cause pain, fear, or distress.
6.3 Training outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Progress depends on many factors including, but not limited to, consistency, environment, individual dog behaviour, and the client’s adherence to the agreed training plan and recommendations provided.

7. Client Responsibilities
7.1 You are responsible for the behaviour and welfare of your dog at all times.
7.2 Dogs must be kept on lead unless instructed otherwise.
7.3 You agree to follow all instructions given during sessions for safety and welfare reasons.
8. Liability and Risk
8.1 Dog training involves inherent risks. By attending, you accept responsibility for any risk of injury or damage caused by you or your dog.
8.2 We accept no liability for loss, injury, or damage to persons, dogs, or property, except where caused by our negligence and where liability cannot be excluded under UK law.
8.3 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under law.

9. Insurance
We hold appropriate public liability insurance. Details are available on request.

10. Media and Content
10.1 We may take photographs or videos during sessions for training records or marketing purposes.
10.2 Please inform us in writing before the session if you do not consent to your or your dog’s image being used.
11. Data Protection
11.1 Personal data will be handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
11.2 Your information will only be used for administration, training purposes, and communication related to our services.

12. Changes to Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will always apply to new bookings.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
