I founded Talk Bark with a vision of helping dogs and their people understand each other better through the world of scent.
I've grown up with dogs. My mum used to be a dog trainer and showed dogs, and I've been involved since I could walk. I got my first dog, Charlie, at 19, soon after moving to London. Sadly, he passed away shortly before his 16th birthday in 2024.
In recent years, I became increasingly involved in dog rescue through volunteering and fostering, which deepened my interest in canine behaviour and training. I completed the Animal Training Instructor (ATI) course via PACT and am now recognised by the Animal Behaviour & Training Council (ABTC).
In 2023, I adopted my first rescue dog - Delilah, a seven-month-old whirlwind (putting it diplomatically). She was more challenging than I could have imagined, but what she's taught me has been invaluable. With her, I discovered scentwork and mantrailing, and later tracking. I'm completely hooked - and so is Delilah.
That discovery led me to qualify as a Trailing Instructor via Trailing K9s Academy, and as a Scentwork Instructor, Judge and Trial Manager via Scentwork UK. These sports changed how I think about dogs and training, and Talk Bark exists because of that.
