I founded Talk Bark with a vision of helping dogs and their people understand each other better.

Karina Schack

I've grown up with dogs. My mum used to be a dog trainer and showed dogs, and I've been involved since I could walk. I got my first (own) dog, Charlie, at 19, shortly after moving to London. Sadly, he passed away shortly before his 16th birthday.

In recent years, I've become increasingly involved in dog rescue through volunteering and fostering. This deepened my interest in canine behaviour and training. I've completed several courses to build my knowledge and skills, including the Animal Training Instructor (ATI) course via PACT. I'm now an Animal Behaviour & Training Council (ABTC) recognised dog trainer.

In 2023, I adopted my first rescue dog - Delilah, a seven-month-old whirlwind (putting it diplomatically). She was more challenging than I could have imagined, but what she's taught me has been invaluable. With her, I discovered scentwork and mantrailing, and I'm completely hooked (so is Delilah!).

Whilst silver bullets don't exist in dog training, these sports come remarkably close. I won't go on about them here, but have a read on the Scentwork section for more information. I'll also be starting trailing/mantrailing in April 2026 - give me a shout if you want to hear more.
